Cocaine is a powerful stimulant that is extremely addictive and has very adverse effects on the body. Once a person tries this drug, they lose the self control to stave off its usage. Usually, this drug is known by street names such as “snow,” “sneeze,” “white pony,” “nose candy,” “dust,” “toot” and many more, but scientifically, it is called benzoylmethylecgonine. Cocaine looks like a white crystalline powder and it is mixed with sugar, flour or cornstarch and generally injected, sniffed or smoked. The effects of taking cocaine are very hazardous and people can die if they overdose.

In many cases, cocaine use can result in cardiac arrest and respiratory failure that lead to immediate death. Some of the short-term effects of cocaine include decreased appetite, increased temperature, mental alertness, dilated pupils and increased blood pressure, just to name a few. These days, some people use cocaine so they can work for prolonged hours at night and do more of a hard slog, which is especially erroneous.
