Anyone who has suffered drug addiction or been the loved one of someone addicted to drugs or alcohol has likely heard of Narconon. What makes Narconon different from other treatment facilities? How can Narconon help someone like me? Why should Narconon help me?
In observance of the 44th anniversary of Narconon International, these questions that are often asked can easily be answered. The truth is, Narconon is the ultimate Cinderella story, the ultimate rags to riches story. How? Because every woman who goes through the program learns that she is indeed a woman of value who deserves to know that she is as beautiful inside as any prima donna. Every man who goes through the program learns that he is indeed a man who can rise above the past and become the great, productive strength of character he can be.

Marc Bernard, Executive Director of Narconon Trois-Rivières.
What makes us believe this so strongly at Narconon? Because we were founded by just such a person in 1966. William Benitez took the words he read in a book in a prison library in Arizona that was written by L. Ron Hubbard, grasped the meaning behind those words and built a place where dreams begin to come true with the recovery of drug addiction. By getting to the root of what drug addiction and what causes it, Benitez was able to establish a program with dreams and goals.
What are Narconon’s dreams and goals?
To have every person who comes through its doors get clean of drug or alcohol addiction by offering a drug free environment in which to detox and recover in. To have every person learn the tools needed for not only recovery but a continued successful recovery even after leaving the program. To let every person know that he or she is important and setting up aftercare so that the person knows he or she is not alone, even after the initial program is completed.
Narconon does not believe in failure, it believes in people. By focusing on the patients and getting them clean, by focusing on helping them through the potholes of life that led to their addiction so they can stay clean, Narconon is achieving the most important goal of all: graduating productive, ethical, drug free citizens who can go on and live full lives, the lives they deserved to live all along before drug addiction took over. Narconon is the proud parent at the graduation ceremony as each of its children celebrates the first day of the rest of their lives. There is no better anniversary present that could bring satisfaction for a parent than knowing that they have been successful in helping their children and loved ones become the men and women they were meant to be. These are the dreams and goals of Narconon.
