Suboxone Addiction

If one is undergoing any drug addiction recovery treatments and use Suboxone regularly, then it may be common knowledge that it is quite easy to become addicted towards this substance. This article will explain the reasons behind Suboxone addiction.

suboxone addiction Suboxone AddictionPeople who want to quit using dangerous street drugs like heroin and morphine are generally treated with the help of other such drugs which have less power and effect. One of those is Suboxone. Suboxone, which is an opioid, is the number one choice of many medical experts as it has the properties of an opioid partial agonist; or in layman’s terms, it is not as potent. Though such substances are not as dangerous as other drugs, there is always some risk associated with them. Proper caution needs to be taken. With regular check-ups and timely monitoring, medical professionals can identify its effects in the early stages, and thus take the required actions. Without this supervision, sufferers can soon become addicted to this drug; substituting all others for a Suboxone addiction.

The general intake method of Suboxone is through its insertion under the tongue. This way the medical staff makes sure that the drug is absorbed through the mucus. Like any other drug, this cannot be injected into the body because it causes immediate opiate withdrawal, which is very serious and can also lead to death. The common side effects of Suboxone addiction is cold- or flu-like symptoms: nausea, vomiting, headaches, body and muscle pains, insomnia, anxiety, depression, sweating, restlessness, etc. Sometimes the patients also suffer from respiratory problems, making it difficult to breathe.

This substance can also be used in the maintenance therapy programs after the person is cured from the addiction. In those cases, the doctor might prescribe the medicine and give authorization to the patients to use them at home. However, because they are highly addictive substances, physicians can only prescribe five refills in six months. As this drug makes them feel relief, patients may misuse the prescriptions or try visiting other doctors to get more refills. This is a possible sign of Suboxone addiction.

I am a firm believer in Suboxone. I was abusing narcotics for 15 years before I was treated with this seriously unbelievable pill. I've been on it for a year and a half but have had some problems. I have come down with major testicular pain which shoots into my lower abs and my back. Just beware suboxone because there is not way to get help for “real” pain when you have it.

Well I been on suboxone for about a year, Dr cut me down from 24 mgs down to 4 mgs, now he is cutting my dose in half, according to his words “for my own good so we can get me off of them” fucker has no real knowledge, just shit he read in books, he actually believes that if I were to use I would get “sick” any suboxone user knows thats not true, you can use all you want before and after taking it with no ill effects except for maybe have to take a little more, how do you expect to cut a persons dosage in half and have them be able to go to work and function? Shamilton, there is a way of getting help for real pain if you need it, the doctors are just so fucked up, you could be in the hospital screaming cuz your guts are torn out and they will say in a snottty voice “Oh sorry, YOUR A DRUG ADDICT, we cant give you anything for pain. then walk away with a smug look on their face like oh yeh, I just told him, stopped a drug addict from getting drugs, leaving you in pain, it sucks but thats how it is. The way to get help if you are in pain is dont tell, thats how fucked up it is, I broke my leg and did the stupid mistake of being honest, I had to suffer through all that pain because im a DRUG ADDICT and I dont desrve relief from pain, guess if I had to have surgery they would operaate on me without anasthesia cuz I might get high off it and they cant have that, sorry for your trouble Shami, just dont tell and maybe then they will take you seriously.

My name is Bev. I was taking 3 10 mg Loratab for pain; probably about 4 years. I was mis-led two men, one a doctor and the other a “so-called minister”, who told me that being on Suboxone was a win-win situation. There was no withdrawl symptoms, etc, etc. I was encouraged to go on them and so I did. Now three years later, taking 3 a day (from this place) I gained 25 pounds and became paranoid and mean towards everyone. For about the 100th time, I tried myself to ween. I couldn't come off of at least one a day without feeling suicidal. I took an overdose from that depression one time and barely made it. So, finally- I went into a rehab. My insurance only paid for a wk so they put me on oxycodone (which I had never been on.) Everyday, the doctor there would give me less and less of this, until the day I left. So, here I was in 7 days supposed to be all better? Guess what? I'm not. So my plans are to go to a pain dr and detox myself (with help from family.) This may take a month. Just wanted to let someone know that Suboxone isn't all that!!!
