Working Toward a Drug-free World
Narconon Centers will do everything possible to get the message, the truth about drugs, out to as many people, schools, cities, and communities as possible. In fact, just recently some of our drug prevention team members, two very talented and caring women, Isabelle Roy and Eliane Juteau, were invited to give drug prevention lectures at two different schools on the 6th and 9th of April.
On April 6, Narconon drug prevention specialist Eliane Juteau attended College Ellis, located in Drumondville, Québec. In attendance were 23 second-year college students, studying Special Education. They were given a very enthusiastic and informative lecture concerning the truth about drugs. Isabelle and Eliane, were also able to talk to the students about the Narconon program itself.
On April 9, Isabelle and Eliane attended a private high school, College St-Hilaire, located in St-Hilaire, Québec. In attendance were 104 students, 14 and 15 years of age. And again the response from the lecture was amazing. The audience was very alert and eager to ask questions.
Both lectures were a great success. Narconon Trois-Rivières would like to thank both schools for allowing us to spread the word, the truth about drugs.
Scoring Big in Educating Young Hockey Players to Lead a Drug-free life
Narconon is spreading a drug free message to the young future hockey players of Québec, Canada. During the 27th, 28th, and 29th of March, Narconon drug prevention specialist Eliane Juteau, attended the 11th annual MAGH hockey tournament at the Aréna Jérôme Contnoir in Trois-Rivières West, Québec.
The tournament featured young players, ages five to eight years old. Narconon Trois-Rivières was able to set up a drug prevention booth, and distribute the booklet, “10 Things your Friends may not Know about Drugs,” to both players and parents. We were also very happy to raffle off a Reebok hockey stick, which could be won from submitting one’s name into a draw. Many players entered the draw, yet only one could win. Five-year-old Joshua Laflamme of Trois-Rivières was the lucky winner of the hockey stick. Fortunately Joshua’s sister filled out a ballet for her brother, and he was able to win. Congratulations to Joshua, and congratulations to all the teams and players who attended.
