Saving Kids From Drugs

Drug prevention specialists are dedicated in getting the truth about drugs known to as many children as possible. It is their purpose to save as many youth as possible from ever getting involved with drugs and alcohol.

Narconon Trois-Rivieres drug prevention specialist’s Isabelle Roy and Eliane Juteau had the pleasure of delivering a drug education lecture to a local high school in Drummondville, Quebec, on April 6, 2009. The team delivered a very informative and entertaining lecture about drugs, and what they can do to the mind and body. An amazing moment happened after these two ladies completed their lecture; a life was saved from the chains of addiction. A student within the class brought the informative brochure and information they received from the lecture home to their parents. The parent contacted the number on the brochure and spoke to one of the intake counsellors working at the centre. Within a matter of time, the counsellor was able to help the family save the life of their loved one, and have them start on the road to recovery.

Drug education is of a vital importance within every community. Too many of our youth today are getting themselves involved in the destructive web of drug and alcohol addiction. The truth about drugs must get out to all of our youth. These preventative actions can and will save lives, and will allow these people to carry the message on to future generations. Drug and alcohol addiction destroys lives everyday, and in most of these cases something could have been done to prevent it from happening. Drug education and prevention is the first step in preventing any drug addiction from taking hold. Narconon Trois-Riveres, for the past ten years, has been delivering effective drug education throughout the local community in Trois-Rivieres, and all over the province of Quebec. We have had the pleasure of presenting these lectures to future athletes, students, cadets, parents, and educators. The summer of 2009 will be busy for the Narconon Trois-Rivieres drug prevention team. They will travel throughout the province of Quebec to different festivals and events getting the message out, “The truth about drugs”. Thousands of people will receive the very informative brochure, 10 Things Your Friends May Not Know About Drugs. This brochure contains the hard facts about drugs and how they actually affect a persons mind and body. The most rewarding part about doing this is, knowing your efforts can and have helped save someone’s life, and that is what makes it all worth it. while there are good programs out there unfortunately the best ones are only for people who have the money to pay for them. There should be more programs that are funded for the poor other than the ones that detox you and kick you back out on the street.
