The Secret Underlying Narconon’s Drug Rehabilitation Program, You are Capable, Always Were.

mind power The Secret Underlying Narconon’s Drug Rehabilitation Program, You are Capable, Always Were. The human mind has huge capabilities; above what is commonly imagined.  A great many people have always known this to be true. And the Narconon staff know this too.  It is because of this basic truth that you can overcome alcohol cravings, crack addiction, cocaine need, benzos, heroin use, oxycontin dependance, crystal meth and life’s common setbacks, plus the anxiety that came before or during addiction cravings.  If you are living with a recovering addict, or married to an addict, this concept just might help you.

The following quote was taken from L. Ron Hubbard’s 1950 writings of Dianetics:  (Narconon doesn’t teach Dianetics but this quote is quite applicable here.)

“The human mind was discovered to have been most grossly* maligned*, for it was found to be possessed of capabilities far in excess of any heretofore* imagined, much less tested.”

*Definitions:  (taken from Macmillan Dictionary)

GROSSLY:  very, or extremely.

MALIGNED or MALIGN:  to say unpleasant things about someone or something, usually unfairly.

HERETOFORE:  until this time or before now.

So let’s look this over:

In 1950 L. Ron Hubbard said (in other words) that unpleasant things were unfairly stated about the mind, extremely so.  And that it (the mind) had capabilities far above what anyone had imagined or tested before then.

So the concept stated is this:  The mind has huge capabilities, above what people imagined.  (You may already know this or you may disbelieve it, but  please read on anyway for further clarification.)

Some very unpleasant and unfair comments I have heard about the mind are “you can’t change it” or another “he is stupid, his mind is not smart enough, cannot learn…” or “he will always be trouble, he is over active, please give him medications…”

But again, those comments are contrary to the discovery that the mind is “possessed of capabilities far in excess of any… imagined, ..tested..”  So if the mind is extremely capable, I would say then that the mind CAN change itself.  A mind can calm itself or increase its activity. It can control its body into amazing athletic exercises or make the body stay in bed all day.

As a comparison, let’s look at the various fields of martial arts.  Have you ever heard of or even seen a demonstration of a person kicking his foot through a brick wall?  Or a person slamming his hand onto a pile of concrete blocks and smoothly breaking them all in half?   Well your average person says “I could never do that…”  “No one could do that..”    (yet people have been doing it for centuries)

The mind is strong.

If someone uses his mind to convince himself that he could NOT kick his foot through a brick wall, then of course he never will.   But if someone has taken the time to practice and get better and better over time; if he practiced his own will power and how to be calm and controlled, how to focus his attention, he could eventually learn that he too could effortlessly kick his foot though a brick wall; or like many athletes and even dancers do, jump up and do a backwards somersault in mid air and gently land on his feet.  (And ballet dancers do amazing things too; and so do hockey players).

Now how is that a secret to Narconon’s success?

Well no one at Narconon would teach you to break bricks with your hands or feet nor do any backwards somersaults.  They don’t teach Dianetics at Narconon either.

But at Narconon’s drug rehabilitation programs one works on increased ability.

The thought is that the mind has huge capabilities and therefore one can gradually, with practice, increase confront of people and activities and of the world around him.  Narconon has practical exercises that allow a person to use his natural abilities to simply get along in life and to overcome the intense mental anxieties and physical reactions that your average addict goes through in fighting addiction; or even to have tolerance and control when putting up with an annoying “friend”.

Narconon takes it to another step (several other steps) in that one can find out what problem(s) he was trying to solve by using drugs.  He can then increase his ability so as to solve his problem(s) just by himself solving them – no drugs needed.  In fact basic nutrition works better than drugs (also learned at Narconon) along with the exceptional self improvement courses one does.

One could always add things to a person (such as more drugs, more alcohol) or subtract things from a person (by brain surgeries, etc) but neither of these bring out the true power that he is, they just alter his activity or destroy it in many cases.   I suppose if you want to stop someone from stealing (as an example) and don’t know how to do it, then specific drugs would at least slow him down.  Brain surgery would numb him completely.

Narconon does not make one into an absolute model of perfection (How does one define that anyway? That might be based on opinion of what is considered a model of perfection.)  And Narconon is not set up to handle the insane.  But with Narconon’s education of life and its practical courses which really are very basic communication and skills building exercises, done step-by-step to gradually improve abilities of which are already in him, then one can overcome addiction and actually can confront and control more aspects of life than he ever had before.

And then it is interesting to find that people become quite caring of others while their capabilities increase and so we realize that with increased ability there is a natural increase of love and concern for others.

smiling girl The Secret Underlying Narconon’s Drug Rehabilitation Program, You are Capable, Always Were. But the secret is this:  He or she always could do this; the abilities were there all along.  But what he needed was some time to learn this; and some help from others who will not judge his faults but instead help him focus in his abilities.

The world is not necessarily organized to make a person realize his own abilities, unfortunately it’s more organized to crush people, and that’s why so many fail.  But on the contrary, Narconon is organized to have someone step out of the world for a little while and give him a chance to change himself and then step back into it with his newly realized abilities.

Well, I guess the secret is out now.  I just said it.   We know (not just believe it but know it as pure observable science) that the mind is possessed of capabilities far in excess of what was previously known.  So Narconon has a program built on this principle.  And it works.

You can be drug free.

You can make it in life.

You can even enjoy love and friendship.

Thousands have attested to this world-wide. It’s really true.

The ability is within you and always was.  The Narconon program is tailored to help you with that.  And the Narconon staff are very good at it. Success is so common; the staff are just used to it.

If you are married to an addict or recovering addict; or living with an addict, or a recovering addict; friends with an addict and want to do something about it, you may convince her/him of the above facts.  It’s worth the trouble it takes to do it.
