Ketamine was first given to Vietnam soldiers, and in 1965 it became a popular dissociative, meaning it is a drug that blocks signals to the brain. In the 1970’s, ketamine was used as a research tool for psychiatric medicine. At the end of the century it became a very popular recreational drug, showing up throughout the club and rave scene. When ketamine is used it will impair all the senses, especially sight, balance, and sense of time.

The vast majority of the Ketamine sold today and used for illegal use comes from Asia. It is sold in either powder form or as a liquid form; the powder looks similar to that of cocaine. Ketamine can be used in the following ways, sniffing it, injecting it, or mixing it in a beverage. There have been claims that it can be smoked, mixing it with marijuana or tobacco. Apparently when ketamine is smoked the high take effect quite rapidly. When used orally, it will give a longer trip for the individual, and injecting ketamine is very dangerous for the user.

Also known as Special K. I remember a bunch of boys in their early 20′s trying to get girls to take it at some club, claiming they would have a really wild and spiritual time. They were just trying to incapacitate the girls so they could have their way with them. Drugs FTL!

I am very interested in information of this drug being used to treat RSD/CRPS. I was diagnosed with this disease in 1999 and have found nothing to alleviate it’s effects on me.
