Everyday there are drug addicts battling to achieve sobriety, and many people do not realize the difficulties that face people struggling with drug addiction. It takes a great deal of commitment and dedication to conquer a life long drug addiction. When Mr. Benitez
founded the program in 1966, he was an inmate at the Arizona State Prison. Once a former heroin addict and convicted felon, he made a decision to give himself the abilities to beat his addiction. The Narconon drug rehab program started out as a small therapy group within the prison, and over the next 40 years has grown into 150 different cetners in over 40 different countries. Over the years thousands of lives have been saved from drug addiction, because of the efforts of one man so long ago. The Narconon graduates shown in the videos are just a handful of people who have overcome addiction and have created brand new lives for themselves. It is important from people struggling with addiction to see others achieving sobriety. It gives hope that it is possible, even though at times a drug addict can feel hopeless.
