A pain relieving medication? I don’t think so!

Over the years as an Addictions Counselor, especially in the most recent years I have come across individuals addicted to oxycotin more so than crack, cocaine, heroin and others.  Oxycontin is obtained through Doctors, or on the street from dealers.  It will give the individual a high similar to high-grade heroin.  This drug and addiction tooxycontin-pills it is spreading like wildfire, I have literally come across communities where individuals from 11 yrs old to 65 yrs old are using the drug effecting the entire community and the dealers are getting away with it because of the amount of people using the drug out weighs any leverage the community and law enforcement resources can put on the problem.  On top of this some Doctors are handing it out to patients unaware of the side effects from the drug.

Oxycotin is intended for chronic pain sufferers or terminal cancer patients, the addiction is a physical dependence that the individual cannot avoid when exposed to large doses of the drug for a long period of time.  The addiction is extremely powerful, and causes cravings mentally and physically, extremely irrational decisions are made by the individuals taking the drug motivating them to seek to drug any way they know how.

For those wanting to get off the drug this can be a very difficult task, often medical detox is necessary.  If you have ever tried to locate a medical detox willing to take you off oxycotin you will know what I mean when I say that finding one is not an easy task, and in most cases is not a free service, which is kind of a catch 22 because usually when the person who is addicted to the drug is seeking the help resources are not available to pay for the help required.  For most oxycotin addicts the fear of being off the drug for more than 24 hours is unbearable, this is where support from their families, friends and rehab centers come in to play.  Most long term in patient treatment centers will have resources to provide the addict a comfortable, safe, health conscious and professional setting to go through the withdrawal from the drug before starting the actual program curriculum.

From my experience in dealing with oxycotin addicts and having an addiction to oxycotin myself in the past I can tell you that I have witnessed and felt more pain from oxycotin that I have ever known it to relieve.  It is disgusting to know how much money the developers of this drug are making and how freely the drug is dispersed.

If you or anyone you know has an addiction to oxycotin pick up the phone and get help, it is not worth risking your life over… trust me there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

A PAIN RELEIVING MEDICATION???? I DON’T THINK SO!!
