There is an entirely new form of drug addiction that is on the rise in Ontario: oxycontin drug addiction. That’s right. More and more people are falling victim to prescription drug addiction; they legally get a prescription drug because of an ailment or injury and then they become controlled by it. As the brain tells the body that it needs a prescription drug that the person should no longer be taking for any medical reason, and certainly not in such high dosages, then it becomes apparent that the person needs to make the decision to get clean and detoxify their body of the drug. While this is easier said than done, there are wonderful and reputable programs available that put the patient first and put all their energy into helping the patient break free from the control of Oxycontin drug addiction.
