The following story was written by a graduate of the Narconon Trois-Rivieres drug rehab program; this individual gave Kevin permission to publish their success so others can gain the confidence that sobriety is possible.
How’s everyone doing at Narconon? One day when I’m not so busy I would like to come and say hi to everyone and get some of those wonderful hugs I got when I left, very caring loving people work there and that feeling has never left me.
I started my electrical apprenticeship 8 years ago and it’s only supposed to take 4 years to accomplish a journeyman license. I am now a second year apprentice in school studying to be a 3rd year. Over the years I have attempted my 2nd level twice costing many thousands of dollars and time out of my life. I blamed everyone around me for my failures. I was addicted to powder, rock cocaine and alcohol; and believe me, being a slave of that garbage was tricky because it gave me the illusion that I was in charge, even more so when I sold the drug and used it as leverage to make other users commit humiliating and criminal acts so that they could have just a little taste of the drug. I have faced these past experiences for what they were; for that, they no longer haunt me to commit more pain toward myself or others.

I trust me, I'm proud of me and for that my son loves me and I love him.
Not everyday is as good as the day I graduated ’cause I kinda had to adapt to a world I left so long ago. So! By incorporating a kind of translation between what I learned at Narconon and people in my immediate life, I can speak a language that isn’t out of the textbooks and still get positive results, even in a non-existence situation. In other words I am comfortable, my transition has settled and my “guard” is down because I realized the only trigger would be me, not others, me. I trust me, I’m proud of me and for that my son loves me and I love him. As I said I am in school and at first I had an old feeling of failure due to dropping out twice, but the way out is the way through and through I’m going. I passed all 3 of my midterm xams in November and one day soon I’ll be a journeyman electrician.
Take care everyone.
