I happened onto the Narconon site in the area of parent successes. How wonderful, after having so much pain from seeing your child suffering with the demons of drug addictions to see the child clean and shiny and living life again!
“Thank you Narconon for giving us back our son, the one who is loving, generous, happy, upright and full of life and who now sees a much brighter future for himself.” Says one parent, who is thrilled to see the real boy she gave birth to back in her life. She follows this recommending the drug rehab center and then says “Thank you Narconon, your continuing efforts have replaced the word despair with the word hope, and the happiness you bring to those you approach will always prevail!” What a true testimony on the successfulness of the program.
I love to read these successes, however the next one also tells a great story as well. It is about a former drug addict, who is now clean.
“Words cannot express the gratitude of all the hard work you’ve done with my son. He had been gone from us for about two years—and in a few months your staff has totally given him his life and future. I don’t know how you do it but keep it up. You do perform miracles up there.”
They go on to say how they wish everyone with a drug problem could find their way to Narconon .
Being a parent of a large number of kids (8 all told), I know how painful it would be to see your child in the throes of drug addiction. I never had to live that horror, but I talked to a good friend of mine that had a daughter that was getting very wild. Things in the house were going missing, as they were stolen to provide for the girls drug addictions. The girl gave the most expensive of gifts for Christmas to her family, despite having no job. Theft. The Mother talked to me regularly of her heart ache and distress at seeing this beautiful wonderful girl that she brought into the world going astray. The Mom finally, not knowing about Narconon, and not seeing any attempt by the girl to clean up her act, decided upon the “tough love” approach and threw her daughter out, not to return until she had cleaned up her act. It took four months. Both Mother and daughter were lucky that the daughter was able to shed her addiction safely, by whatever method she used. The daughter is now still drug free, and the Mom is a happy camper.

I did not know about Narconon at the time. I do not recommend to any the method of dealing with addiction that my friend used, even if it was effective for the daughter.
The staff at Narconon are trained to help and guide those you love along the path to drug rehabilitation.
