Residential treatment centers are often for a period of time of 45 days or greater. There are times that people spend months at the center. It all depends on when the individual is ready to leave. One advantage of being at a residential drug treatment center is that the individual is in neutral territory. They are not among the people, places and things that may trigger drug use.
