Narconon’s mandate extends to the negative influence of alcohol, as a drug as well. Between 1999 and 2006, impaired driving killed 1212 Canadian citizens and injured 71,532. The monetary cost to Canadians alone was $469-$2,726 per Canadian. Since 2006, those numbers have increased. There were 2,767 people killed and 194,177 people injured in road crashes in Canada during 2007. Preliminary statistics for 2010 indicate an even greater increase in injuries and deaths due to drinking and driving in Canada.

Stop Teenagers from Drinking and Driving

Any alcohol use that becomes apparent should be dealt with immediately. Counseling and alcohol rehab would be in the best interest of the teenager and the unsuspecting public. These kids need help, and too often, they go without it. Teen drinking often leads to alcohol addiction later in life. That can be prevented with alcohol abuse education and rehab. Lives can literally be saved if the right comprehensive treatment method, such as Narconon, is obtained. Until then, preventing teenage drinking and driving is difficult, at best.
