Why is drug addiction bad? Ask anyone who has ever loved an addict. You will definitely get some hardcore answers. People get dependent on the drugs or alcohol and this can harm them physically. Cancer, cirrhosis, heart, kidney and circulatory problems; all can be caused by drug or alcohol addiction. Sometimes an overdose or alcohol poisoning can lead to an accidental death.

Probably one of the biggest things you can do is to let the person know that you are there for them. Offer your support and encouragement, letting them know that you are there for them when they need to talk, even if that means a call at three in the morning.

Although rebellion is one of the reasons for teen drug addiction, it certainly isn’t the only one. Teens are just like everyone else in that, if they find something that feels good, they want to continue with it. The age group with the sharpest rise in drug addiction is 12-17.

There are many different combinations of treatments that can be used to help in beating drug addiction. Sometimes it takes more than one try but the important thing is to keep trying. There is a treatment plan that is right for each individual. Sometimes it just takes more than one attempt to find it.
