Narconon Trois-Rivières’ mandate is to provide support and rehabilitation programs for people with alcohol dependency and addiction problems to achieve permanent recovery. The Narconon program was started by William Benitez in 1966 after beating his own addiction, using the materials in a book from humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard. The Drug and alcohol rehabilitation program is now used internationally to effectively help addicts and alcoholics to effectively recover and live happy without drug or alcohol.

Drug addiction and alcohol addiction ruin the holidays for everyone involved. Sure, we got great gifts, but the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. All afternoon and evening we would hear the little barbs coming from my Mother and Father. Even at my Grandmother’s house, but they curtailed it somewhat there. Alcohol addiction is the reason my sisters and I never wanted to spend Christmas night at home. We would take our favorite toy to Grandmother’s house and ask to stay there.

It is not only the addict that suffers through the holidays. Oh no, they make sure everyone else does to. The addict is miserable, and understandably so. That isn’t going to change on its own. Rehab centers, such as Narconon Trois-Rivieres, are there to help root out the problem, teach the addict new ways of dealing with stress and leave the addiction behind.
